Lars Viksmoen, MD
Dr. Lars Viksmoen is a distinguished leader in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries, with a career spanning over four decades. Trained as a physician with a decade of surgical and trauma experience, he transitioned into the life sciences sector where he held senior executive roles across global markets. As CEO of GN ReSound, he led a transformative turnaround—doubling EBITA margins, driving 18 consecutive quarters of organic growth, and positioning the company as a technology leader through pioneering innovations like the first Made for iPhone hearing aid.
Dr. Viksmoen also served as CEO of Biotec Pharmacon ASA and held multiple regional and global leadership roles at Merck & Co., where he was instrumental in expanding operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His strategic acumen spans R&D, regulatory affairs, marketing, and corporate governance, with a proven track record in turnaround management and stakeholder engagement.
Currently, he contributes his expertise as a board member of PCI Biotech Holding ASA and has served on the boards of other publicly listed companies. He holds a medical degree from the University of Oslo and has completed executive education at Stanford and Harvard Business School.
